Fish in Coriander sauce Ingredients 1 pound of Tilapia or Flounder fillets
½ tsp of turmeric powder
½ tsp coriander powder
1 tsp of lemon Juice
½ tsp of red chili powder
4 tbp cooking oil
Salt to taste.
Green Paste 1 bunch of coriander leaves
1/2 Bunch of mint leaves.
1 tbp green chilli
3-4 peppercorns
1 tbp of ginger
3 tbp of garlic
1 tsp cumin seeds
Salt to taste
½ cup of water
Preparation · Grind all the ingredients into a paste.
· Cut the fish fillets into 2 inch cubes and marinate for 10 min with salt, turmeric powder, chili powder, and coriander powder and lemon juice.
Method In a round bottom pan over low to medium heat, add 4 tbp of oil and green paste. Fry for a couple minutes until oil separates. Add 1 cups of water and bring it to a boil. Add the fish pieces to the pan and lower the flame to a slow simmer. Cook the fish covered for 10 minutes and serve hot with rotis.
Alternatives Coriander leaves can be substituted by a cup of blanched Spinach to make the fish in Spinach sauce.
